Working under the Regional Director of Pharmacy for the region; the Director of Pharmacy will act as the ICP for the St. Helena Hospital campus. Planning, staffing, general management and direction of the campus will fall under this role.
Key Job Specific Duties:
1. Demonstrates knowledge of the frontline team key functions/services.
2. Maintains expertise in areas of responsibility.
3. Provides written guidelines and approves the procedure to assure that all pharmaceutical requirements are met when any preparing, sterilizing, and labeling of parenteral medications and solutions is performed within the hospital, but not under pharmacy supervision.
4. Participates in the initial orientation and subsequent inservice education, including the provision of appropriate incompatibility information, of all personnel involved in the preparation or administration of sterile parenteral medications and solutions.
5. Coordinates all inhouse manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, with proper control procedures.
6. Maintains and keeps available the staff-approved stock of antidotes and other emergency drugs, both in the Pharmacy and patient care areas.
7. Maintains records of the transactions of the Pharmacy as required by federal, state, and local laws, and as necessary to maintain adequate control and accountability of all drugs.
